URSA Straps

URSA Straps are ultra-low-profile wireless transmitter straps designed for film, television, theatre and live performance. Made from a slim bonded fabric rather than neoprene or standard elastic, they are designed to hold radio mic transmitters securely and discreetly against the body while remaining comfortable, breathable and easy to hide under costume or clothing.

What is this used for?

URSA Straps are used to secure wireless microphone transmitters on performers, presenters, dancers and broadcast talent. They help sound teams hide radio mic packs discreetly, reduce transmitter movement, manage excess mic cable and keep packs comfortable against the body during filming, theatre shows, live events and high-movement performances.

How to choose the right product

Choosing the right URSA Strap depends on where the transmitter needs to be hidden, what the performer is wearing and how much movement is involved. A waist strap is usually the most versatile option for general radio mic pack placement, especially on the lower back or side of the body. Thigh and ankle straps are useful when waist placement is difficult, such as with dresses, skirts, shorts or tighter costumes. Chest and back straps are better suited to high-movement performances, sports, dance or situations where the transmitter needs to sit away from the waist.

You should also match the pouch size to your transmitter. Small pouches are designed for compact transmitters, while big pouches are better for taller or larger professional transmitters. For extreme movement, dance or action sequences, pouch protectors can help keep transmitters locked securely inside the pouch.

How do I wash URSA Straps?

URSA Straps are machine washable. Connect the hook-and-loop gripper before washing, use a short 40–60°C wash, then hang to air dry or tumble dry on low heat. URSA Zipper Cases can also be used to help keep straps and accessories organised and sterile.

Which URSA Strap should I choose?

Choose a waist strap for general transmitter placement, a thigh or ankle strap when the performer is wearing dresses, skirts or shorts, and a chest or back strap for high-movement work or when waist placement is not suitable. The best option depends on costume, comfort, movement and where the transmitter needs to be hidden.

Will URSA Straps fit my transmitter?

URSA Straps are available with different pouch sizes. Small pouches are designed for compact transmitters, while big pouches are suitable for taller or larger professional transmitters. Smaller transmitters can usually fit in a big pouch, but larger transmitters should be matched carefully to the correct pouch size.

Pouch Protectors are useful when the transmitter may be pushed out of the pouch during extreme movement, such as dance, action sequences or physically demanding performances. They are especially recommended for certain transmitter types and situations where extra security is needed.
